Position Summary:
The basic functions of the Quality Inspection Technician are to:
• Act as the liaison between management, Engineering and hourly employees
• Be responsible for auditing processes and procedures
• Perform on the floor inspection of parts
• Have the capacity to run Coordinate Measuring Machine
• Provide feedback on constant improvement initiatives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Inspect production parts and processes.
• Read and interpret drawings.
• Demonstrate an understanding of GD&T.
• Confer with managers and supervisors to coordinate activities and resolve quality problems.
• Interface with shop personnel on quality related issues.
• Recommend process improvements or corrections to management.
• Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, processes, and the resulting products.
• Properly operate the Coordinate Measuring Machine.
• Ensure all employees conform to the policies, practices and procedures of the Quality Management System including customer specifications.
• Establish and maintain proper Document Control as required by the Standard.
• Train all employees on all aspects of the Quality Management System as required.
• Train shop employees concerning any/all aspects part inspection techniques.

• Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, management, staff and external parties.
• Solve problems and provide technical guidance and training to staff as required.
• Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
• Write reports, effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, suppliers, customers, and the general public.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
• Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in written, oral or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
• Computer literate
• Work well in a team environment, demonstrate good communication skills, maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Education and/or Experience:
Required: High school diploma or GED
Additional consideration will be given for any substantial post secondary education or 8 years work related experience (or a combination of both).
Preferred: At least eight years' experience in moderate volume, metal fabricating industry inspection. To provide the customers with quality products according to their structure and requirements.
